Bold, bright colors combined with earthy rusting reds and browns create the base layer for this painting. Turquoise and soft shades of pink portray warm summer days, similar to the day I sat admiring my garden. It was beginning to bloom in late June and the warm sun on my cheeks was refreshing after such a long winter. I suddenly lost myself in the garden and imagined myself small, walking through forest-like stalks. Hosta blooms reaching for the same summer heat took on the look of California palm trees. My mind quickly whisked me away to refreshing pools of water to cool off from the summer sun. I was completely Inspired by the fresh vibrant blooms as their colors began to force winter to fade.
