This painting marked a shift in my usual process. Instead of starting with bold black graffiti marks, I built a patchwork-like base, creating soft segments—quiet perches for the birds to rest. Later layers included mark-making, some resembling rain falling from a cloud. I love blending realistic subjects with abstract surroundings—it’s a balance that feels both grounded and free.
